Former Guitarist And Director Of Los Jokers Dies

Musician Miguel Ángel Bernardes, a former guitarist and director of the Paraguayan group Los Jokers, passed away today at the age of 75. He stood out with his interpretation of the theme of the movie “Airport.”

Born in Asunción on October 5, 1945, Bernardes joined Los Jokers at the age of 20, seven years after its foundation in 1961. He became director of the famous orchestra, with which he toured various stages of our country.

“The eternal director (we affectionately called him the dictator) and guitarist of Los Jokers undertook his last flight to the heavenly airport,” said drummer Riolo Alvarenga on Facebook, adding that he has beautiful and fond memories of so many shared parties.
