Luke Hackman of Decorah, Iowa, has been identified as one of the victims of a fatal car crash on Sunday on a bridge connecting Iowa and Wisconsin. Tracy Jo Larson, a resident of Prairie du Chien, has been named the second victim. Early on Sunday, a two-vehicle crash outside Crawford County, Wisconsin, claimed the lives of Hackman, 36, and Larson, 44.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Hackman was driving a sedan, and Larson was operating an SUV on Highway 18, which connects Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, to Marquette, Iowa.
Both Larson and Hackman died from collision-related wounds. Hackman’s wife, Brandi Hackman, and the couple’s two children suffered minor injuries.
Hackman set up a GoFundMe to help family members with financial needs. The accident’s origin is currently under investigation. Their 3-year-old boy was unhurt, but their 5-year-old daughter had a fractured wrist.
Luke, unfortunately, passed away at the scene of the accident.
Without a doubt, Luke was a dedicated and caring husband and father. He and Brandi met in high school and fell in love, spending 16 wonderful years together, 8 of them as husband and wife. One of their favorite family pastimes was taking the kids camping regularly every weekend during the summer.
When not spending time with his family, Luke liked to go hiking, open the top of his Jeep Wrangler, be outside, and go fishing. Luke awaited his daughter’s school bus every morning with her while working for Allamakee-Clayton County Electric Cooperative till he picked her up from school each afternoon.
Although his children adored him deeply, they realized that Daddy was in Heaven with their cherished dog, Indy. He significantly influenced his marriage to Brandi, and his death leaves a terrible, inexplicable gap for her and their family.
