The demise of Swetha Donepudi, a 20-year-old, was tragically announced to Bishop Guertin High School. On Thursday, November 24, early in the morning, Swetha died. It was not made public what caused the death, though. Swetha was sadly discovered dead in the early hours of her 24th birthday.
Everyone is devastated by Swetha’s sudden death and has been praying for her afterlife by remembering her in their prayers.
Swetha, a committed and active member of the BG community, received the Cornerstone Award for the Class of 2020 and fully met all requirements for it. She was captain of the swim team, a member of Student Ambassadors, the National Honor Society, Campus Ministry, the creator of the Red Cross Club, and active in many other organizations throughout her time as a student here.
Swetha went above and beyond in every aspect, constantly seeking ways to improve, identifying “gaps,” and filling them without being asked. Most importantly, she was a fantastic friend who made everyone around her smile by taking the time to listen and care about them.
Swetha had just learned that she had been accepted into a Ph.D. program while pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering at Smith College. Someone who would have continued to have a beneficial impact on the world has been lost.
No information about the funeral preparations is given.
