The US threatens to destroy Iranian missiles shipped to Venezuela

The US special representative for Iran and Venezuela, Elliott Abrams, has asserted that the US government will destroy the Iranian long-range missiles if Tehran decides to send them to Venezuela.

“The transfer of long-range missiles from Iran to Venezuela is not acceptable to the United States and will not be tolerated or allowed,” Abrams told Fox News. “We will do everything possible to stop the shipments of long-range missiles, and if they somehow reach Venezuela, they will be eliminated there,” added the State Department official.

Neither Abrams nor other government officials provided information that corroborates the intention of the Iranian government to sell arms to the Latin American country in the near future, but in any case they do not rule out that Tehran and Caracas could collaborate in this area.
