Artists and friends of Milton Gonçalves used social media to honor the actor, who died in Rio de Janeiro on Monday afternoon (30), at the age of 88. According to the artist’s family, he died at home, due to health complications caused by an ischemic stroke, suffered in 2020.
Lázaro Ramos published a sequence of photos with the actor and paid his tribute on Instagram. They were together in Insensato Coração (2011), when Lázaro played André, the son of Milton Gonçalves’ character. They also worked together on the soap opera Lado a Lado (2012).
“Thank you for being an inspiration and for your pioneering spirit. Receive my warmest applause, Milton Gonçalves”, he wrote in the post.
Zezé Motta, a friend, and admirer of the actor paid tribute on Twitter. “Milton was one of the most important actors this country has ever had”. They were together in several productions. She recalled an achievement of the two together: “Our last work together was in the Special ‘Juntos a Magia Acontece’, which won an award in Cannes”.
Actress Alice Wegmann also worked with Milton Gonçalves in the Christmas special Together a Magic Happens. The actress paid tribute to the actor on social media: “Our favorite Santa,” she wrote.
Humberto Carrão also paid tribute to the actor: “Milton is one of the most important in our craft and our culture.”
On Instagram, actress Aline Borges shared a photo of the actor: “Rest in honor, great master. Thank you for all your contribution to Brazilian art!”
Former BBB Maria also paid tribute: “I’ve always been a great admirer of your work”, she wrote.
Flamengo paid tribute to the actor, who was the club’s social vice president. “The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo deeply regrets the death of the great red-black Milton Gonçalves, who was Social Vice-President, Partner-Owner, and Partner Emeritus of the club”.
