The German bodybuilding scene mourns the loss of one of its most popular members: model athlete Paul Poloczek, who has been around for around 20 years, died on Saturday (May 28, 2022) at the age of just 37.
Born in Poland, who came to Germany with his family from Silesia at the age of four, he is survived by his partner and their daughter. Media from the weight training area unanimously reported a heart attack as the cause of death.

Poloczek himself ran a gym in Öhringen near Heilbronn. Even before his 18th birthday, he started bodybuilding and celebrated his first success as a German junior champion.
In 2017, he won the overall amateur class at the Arnold Classic in Columbus/Ohio, founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger (74). “I can’t speak, I’m so happy,” he said tearfully at the time.
“Paul has positively enriched every moment and every situation. The gentle giant only provided ‘sunshine’ with his presence,” says an emotional obituary of the bodybuilding portal “Repone.de”: “We look back on exclusively positive and beautiful moments with Paul.”

In the meantime, Poloczek was out of action for months due to a pectoral muscle tear, but after the serious injury in 2016, the prestige success of weight training icon Schwarzenegger in the USA followed in the following year . Since the birth of his daughter in the summer of 2018, he has also shown himself to be a loving family man on social networks, and in addition to regular sessions in the gym, he has repeatedly given insights into the time spent with the offspring.
