The motorcycle community is mourning as a teenage Canadian motocross rider was severely hurt on September 10, 2023, and eventually died.
The injuries Jason Slingerland, an enduro and mx rider from Alberta, suffered in the deadly crash led to his death.
His death was announced through a Facebook post by the Wild Rose Motocross Association that remarks:
“The past few weeks have been heavy on our motocross community. We have all had Jason and his family in our hearts and thoughts.
If you have not already heard the news, it is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Jason Slingerland. We are all filled with grief, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and his friends.”
During his motocross race on September 10, he crashed. This accident left Jason with a broken tibia and fibula on one leg and a shattered femur on the other.
He also has a separated and broken shoulder. Complications from his femur injury caused swelling in Jason’s brain.
Jason has not been awake since Sunday morning. He had a stint on his brain to help alleviate the pressure, but sadly, he passed away.
