Dozens of people fled the scene in panic over an active attacker. There are reports of injuries
A gunman fired shots Saturday afternoon at the busy Aventura Mall in South Florida. Police warned that the incident is still ongoing.
Videos published on social networks show the panic scenes of people running to get away from the complex, located 28 kilometers north of Miami, and some images reveal that the shots would have hit several people.
“I am with my family at the Aventura Mall. There was a very big shooting. I am with my babies, my wife, my mother-in-law and my mom. I managed to get them all out and I’m on the roof of the parking lot with them. We are afraid. PLEASE watch the news and tell me if it’s okay to go out ”, narrated a Twitter user who is at the scene.
As reported by Local 10 News , customers and employees hid in different stores inside the mall in the middle of the shooting. So far no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
Police officers are still looking for the shooter and fire rescuers are deployed in the vicinity planning to enter when police say it is safe to do so.

Aventura Mall is one of the largest shopping centers in Florida, with more than 200,000 square meters distributed over three floors with more than 200 stores.
On May 29 there was also a shooting at the Aventura Mall, which left two people injured. That event occurred just a week after shopping centers in Miami, affected by restrictions to contain the coronavirus pandemic, reopened. According to statements from employees of the place, the shooting occurred on the first floor of the Nordstrom department store when four customers began to argue and one of them drew a gun.
