The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) confirmed that, since the morning of this Monday, April 19, there has been a strong confrontation between the entity’s police and a group of armed civilians in the Chapalita neighborhood, in Zapopan, Jalisco.

The incident, which mobilized the Guadalajara and Zapopan police, continues to unfold, so there is still an intense mobilization of agents at the intersections of Avenida Chapalita and Calle Crepúsculo.

” There is a security incident in the Chapalita neighborhood, we request your support to make way for the security units in the area,” the prosecution reported in a statement.

According to a Guadalajara police spokesman, the security elements attended a report of armed individuals near Chapalita and Lázaro Cárdenas avenues.

However, a manhunt broke out and a police officer was allegedly taken hostage, although he has allegedly already been released. Unofficially, it speaks of two deceased people.

According to local media, due to the confrontation registered this morning in the Chapalita neighborhood, several streets remain closed to traffic such as Purísima, San José and Capuchinas, Chapalita avenue , among others.

Later, when more reinforcements arrived, the confrontation spread to a farm in the same neighborhood, where four people were secured . Weapons and tactical equipment were also found.

During the skirmish, at least two suspects were killed and another possible person involved was arrested a few blocks from where the first shooting took place.

As a result of the same events, another confrontation was registered on the Lázaro Cárdenas and López Mateos road. There the authorities managed to arrest a subject. In total there would be six people in custody and at least two killed.

On Saturday, also in Zapopan, Irving Alejandro Olivas, brother of singer Alfredo Olivas, alias “El Patroncito”, was assassinated.

The victim was driving on Periférico Avenue, in Zapopan, Jalisco, aboard a Cadillac, Escalade truck, around 11:30 am this Saturday; He was traveling with his wife, daughter and son and the nanny who looked after them.

As they passed the 5 de Mayo highway, a group of armed men blocked their way and shot the crew. The truck ended up hitting a retaining wall and with 25 bullet holes.

Irving Alejandro’s wife, 25, along with their one-year-old baby, died from gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, a four-year-old minor and her nanny only suffered some injuries from the impact of the black truck when contacting the road wall, according to security sources confirmed to Infobae Mexico.
