The news came suddenly and unexpectedly: “Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan ”, we read on the official social channels of the former Screaming Trees singer-songwriter, “died this morning in his home in Killarney, Ireland. Beloved singer, songwriter, author, and musician, he was 57 and left behind his wife Shelley. No other information is available at this time. Please respect the privacy of the family ”.
Last year, Lanegan had recounted his experience with Covid in the book Devil In A Coma, while a few months earlier the acclaimed autobiography Sing Backwards And Weep had been released in Italy. In 2019 under the pseudonym Dark Mark he had joined the Italian producer Not Waving (aka Alessio Natalizia) entitled The Downwelling. in a collaborative record.
