Golden Globes 2021: Which Channel? What Time?

Tonight the Golden Globes 2021 are celebrated, a ceremony that rewards and recognizes the best in the film and television industry. The event will air on NBC at 8:00 PM ET.

The movie “Mank” and the series “The Crown” top the list of nominees for this year’s awards ceremony with a total of six nominations for each project.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the official presenters for the 78th Golden Globes. However, Fey will be hosting the event from New York City, while Poehler will be hosting it from Los Angeles.

 

For the first time in the history of the Golden Globes, the presenters will be broadcasting from different cities, due to the changes that have been implemented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to information reviewed by  Heavy , the live audience during the event will be made up of health workers amid the confinement that is experienced worldwide by the Coronavirus. In addition, the winners of the different categories could be receiving their awards virtually.

AIR DATE: Sunday, February 28, 2021

BROADCAST TIME:  8:00 PM ET

WHERE THE EVENT WILL BE HELD: It will be held simultaneously from Los Angeles and New York, due to the changes that have been implemented to hold the award ceremony in a safe way due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

BROADCAST CHANNEL: The show airs on the NBC network. Check with your local TV provider (FIOS, Optimum, or Time Warner) to find out which NBC channel they have in your area. You can also use the NBC channel finder to search for your local stations, you can find it here.

OFFICIAL PRESENTERS: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be conducting the 2021 Golden Globes. In the past, Fey and Poehler were responsible for conducting the important awards ceremony from 2013 to 2015.

SPECIAL HOST:  According to Rolling Stone, the list of special hosts for the 2021 Golden Globes includes personalities such as: Anthony Anderson, Awkwafina, Kevin Bacon, Sterling K. Brown, Michael Douglas, Cynthia Erivo, Tiffany Haddish, Kate Hudson, Joaquin Phoenix, Margot Robbie, Kyra Sedgwick, Kenan Thompson, Susan Kelechi Watson, Kristen Wiig, Renee Zellweger, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

PRODUCTIONS WITH THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF NOMINATIONS: “Mank” and “The Crown” lead the list of nominees for the 78th edition of the Golden Globes with a total of 6 nominations each.

RED CARPET:  Heavy announced that E! Entertainment Television will be broadcasting the event’s red carpet fully live beginning at 6:00 PM ET. The prelude to the Golden Globes will air on NBC beginning at 7:00 PM ET.

CELEBRITIES THAT WILL RECEIVE SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:  The talented Norman Lear and Jane Fonda will receive special recognition for their outstanding contributions to the Hollywood acting industry over the past several years.
