Danny Aiello was born on June 20, 1933, in ManhattanNew York, United States.

He was the fifth of six children of Frances Pietrocova, a native seamstress from Naples, Italy, and worker Daniel Louis Aiello, Sr. His father abandoned the family even though his wife had gone blind.
