Meaning of the name of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie
Explaining his unconventional stage name, DuBose told Newsweek: “I used to watch Paid Full every day when I was 12, and then I started rapping and everyone called me A Boogie [a character from the movie]. And then the hoodie with hoodie because I wore sweatshirts all the time. They started calling me A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and that’s how it stayed. The only other rap name I would have considered is Artist, and that’s my real name. ”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie studied at the DeWitt Clinton Institute. Dubose started rapping when he was twelve when he learned about Kanye West and 50 Cent’s musical material.
As time progressed and she grew up, she got into various problems, especially legal ones, mostly for the sale of various drugs, when her parents found out they sent her to Florida as punishment, where she stayed until she graduated from high school. After graduation, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie began to focus on his music career while combining it with jobs in construction and pizza delivery.

The song took months to record due to Dubose’s lack of intonation at the time, so he hired a singing coach to help improve his voice, and after that, he finished recording “Temporary”.

In 2015, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie moved to New York with the intention of dedicating herself entirely to her artistic career. He and rapper Quincy “QP” Acheampong created The Highbridge label, a small label, and set up a home studio.
