Senator from Virginia, USA, died victim of Covid -19, this Friday, reports CNN .
Ben Chafin, 60, was hospitalized for two weeks at the VCU Medical Center. The announcement of his death was made in a statement, where the Republican’s family thanked the “vigorous” way in which the Richmond medical center treated the man during the time he was hospitalized.
Chafin had served the state since 2013, when he was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates. The following year, he was elected to the state Senate.
The man leaves three children and the woman a widow.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam paid the man a farewell tribute, referring to him as a “good man” and a “strong lawyer”.
Southwest Virginia has lost a strong advocate—and we have all lost a good man.
