“Tom has been with the Reds for the past three seasons and his loss will be felt by all at the Club.

Moreover, his parents Bob and Wendy, are saddened over his death. His mum said: “Tom, you are the best son, you have always made us so proud, you are our world. There are no words for how much we will miss you.

The semi-professional club, the one who competed in The Southern League, played AFC Rushden & Diamonds, paid their respects while sharing a tweet, “Having been with you all yesterday, We are devastated to read this awful news this afternoon.

“Our thoughts are with you all and with Tom’s friends & family.”

Leamington added: “Our sincere condolences to everybody at Redditch and to Tom’s friends and family.

“He played for us briefly upon our return to the National League North 5 years ago. A truly sad loss. Thoughts are with all who knew him.”

Thomas Rankin is known to be of 26 years age on Bromsgrove Sporting FC’s website. Thomas graduated from Loughborgh University and had been at the Worchestershire side for about three years.
