Elehuris Montero’s Daughter Died At The Age Of Two

The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League ( LIDOM ) offered its condolences to the Eastern Stars infield, Elehuris Montero, whose daughter Elah Sophia Montero Díaz tragically passed away on Monday.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, the highest body of the Dominican league, its president, Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, affirmed that the great Dominican baseball family accompanies Montero in these distressing moments.

“This is a painful moment for Elehuris and we want to express all our support as a league for him and for all his family members,” said Mejía Ortiz through a press document. “This is an irreparable loss and only God can comfort him and all of his family members, which is something we greatly desire.”

Mejía Ortiz also sent condolences to the management of the Eastern Stars , their players, and all their technical and administrative staff.

In solidarity with Montero and his family, this Monday a minute of silence was observed before the start of the two games at the opening of the Round Robin of the 2021-2022 championship at the Julián Javier stadium in San Francisco de Macorís and at the Tetelo Vargas of San Pedro de Macorís. Montero is an outstanding All-Star player who performs in the current championship dedicated to the memory of Kalil Haché Malkum.
