Salvadoreño Youtuber, Creator Of Neon War, Cancer Victim Dies

The Salvadoreño cartoonist Hugo Nelson Serrano, creator of “Neon War”, died this May 2 because of lymphatic cancer that he had suffered for more than a year. The news was confirmed by the social media accounts of the digital cartoon.

“We regret to inform you that our great brother NEON WAR lost the battle against cancer and has gone into the arms of the Lord. We want to thank you for all the love and support you gave him from the beginning with your videos and then his process during cancer, without you he would not have been able to achieve everything he achieved and we know that he was extremely grateful to all of you. Unfortunately, he could not give you a few words but as a family we know that he was happy and satisfied with all your support. The young man had more than 600,000 followers on YouTube and began battling the disease since May last year when he was diagnosed with cancer.

“I hereby inform you that the Neonwar videos are suspended for health reasons, since the creator is diagnosed with cancer and we need your help,” he published at the time.

Serrano battled the deadly disease by undergoing various chemotherapy treatments. The young man had traveled to the United States since last Saturday, February 13, in search of medical alternatives. since, as he assured in a video posted on his Facebook page, he was not suitable for a bone marrow transplant.

Serrano’s videos accumulated millions of reproductions, among the most viewed are: Tremors, Far Brother, the clinic, Christmas and New Year.
