Colima.- This Sunday is a day of mourning for extreme sports in Colima and for the municipal and state Civil Protection areas, Edgar Figueroa Gutiérrez known as ‘loco’ died around 1:00 pm when he fell from his paraglider.

The death was in the area known as La Herradura towards the Alpuyequito in Colima

According to flight companions, Figueroa would have presented an error in a maneuver, which caused the wing of his paraglider to start turning to the left uncontrollably.

Seconds later Figueroa collapsed and would not have managed to open his parachute.

He died instantly from the impact.

Edgar Figueroa took off this Sunday at noon from La Cumbre along with more colleagues who made ordinary flights.

The emergency bodies went to the place and his body was removed from the place by the expert services.

On September 19, 2020, he received the Melchor Ursúa Quiróz Municipal Civil Protection Award for his work in favor of civil protection in Colima.

Edgar Figueroa was a man dedicated to his civil protection work and served the population with total professionalism.
