Ronnie Hillman, a former running back for the Denver Broncos, passed away on December 21 in Atlanta at the age of 31. In a message on social media, Ronnie K. Hillman Jr.’s family said, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of our loving son, brother, and father.”
Before this, according to BIN news, former Broncos teammate Orlando Franklin asked his supporters to pray for Hillman, who was battling cancer and receiving hospice care.
Cause of death:
In December 2022, Hillman received his liver cancer and pneumonia diagnosis and was put into intensive care. According to The Teal Mango, he was also given a rare Renal Medullary Carcinoma diagnosis in August. A “rare but highly aggressive neoplastic form of cancer that primarily affects young African Americans with sickle cell trait” is how the malignancy is described. He had been undergoing treatment for a few months, but it had been ineffective.
Career:
He played college football at San Diego State. His selection by the Denver Broncos came in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He won Super Bowl 50 with their help. Later, he participated in games for the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, and Minnesota Vikings.
Hillman missed the 2009 season while SDSU worked through the administrative issues connected to his admission. The redshirt year for Hillman had no bearing on his eligibility.
2010 saw Hillman gain 1,532 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns for the San Diego State Aztecs football team. In his third NCAA football game, he had 228 rushing yards against Missouri on September 18, 2010.
Relationship/ Wife:
According to the sources, he was unmarried at the time of his death, was not dating anyone, and there is no information about his wife or another significant person. When he went away in 2022, he had never been wed and wasn’t even in a relationship.
Children:
At the time of his death, Ronnie had no children.
