Dr. Lauren Gilstrap, MD, a medical assistant professor at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, passed away on October 21, 2022. She was declared deceased on Twitter by Dartmouth’s Hitchcock Heart and Vascular Center on Monday, October 24, 2022.
Currently, neither the family nor the authorities have identified a cause of death. Funeral plans will be revealed later.
From 2002 to 2006, she studied at the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with a plan II business honors degree in business administration and the liberal arts. She earned a medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 2010 and has 11 to 20 years of experience as a doctor.
At Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, Lauren was an assistant professor of medicine. Cardiomyopathy, heart failure, cardiac transplant, VA devices, quality of care research, and health outcome studies are some of her main research interests. In the internal medicine unit of the Massachusetts General Hospital, she served as a resident for three years.
Lauren remarked Personalized cardiac care is what I strive to deliver. As a late-stage cardiologist and heart transplant physician, I frequently work with patients who need advanced therapy for heart diseases, such as medications, heart pumps, or transplants. No two treatments are the same because no two patients are the same. To assist people in making the most meaningful choices for themselves and their loved ones, I strongly emphasize quality of life and work closely with everyone.
