John Shield lived in Buffalo, New York, for a very long time. He played basketball at Bishop Timon High School, where he went to school. South Buffalo, New York’s Bishop Timon High School, is a Roman Catholic Franciscan high school for young men run and staffed by the Orders of Friars Minor. The Franciscan Friars established Bishop Timon High School in 1946 as its original name.
When John was playing basketball, his sport of choice, he was very obedient and committed. John contributed significantly to Timon High School’s success during one of its best seasons.
Joe Kwitech, the Shields coach, said that John helped him grow as a person and a coach. He significantly improved me as a human and as a trainer. I don’t recall him ever talking back or being disrespectful to anyone. John never acted impolitely or negatively toward anyone.
He was generally extraordinarily kind and helpful, always willing to help anyone out of a mess. He was a fantastic basketball player and a good student. he was always attempting to learn new things that would help him in the future. May he rest in peace, his soul. Keep praying for him in your thoughts.
