Wadih Wassouf, George Wassouf’s Son, Died

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (WPN) – Syrian artist George Wassouf, famously known as “Sultan of Tarab”, announced on Friday, through his Twitter account, the death of his son Wadih.

The death came just hours after the family announced that the late young man had been transferred to a hospital in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, in critical condition after undergoing a gastric sleeve operation more than a week ago.

Although the operation was declared a success at the time, Wadih died as a result of internal bleeding.

After the death was announced, social media erupted in grief, with many late celebrities lamenting.

Wassouf was known for his intense attachment to his late son, and the Syrian artist was called “Abu Wadih.” In a previous post by Wassouf on Twitter, he described his son as “the sweetheart of the heart.”
