Vince Mini, Coach and Author, Passes Away Unexpectedly

Vincent Mini, known as Vince Mini in the fitness community, passed away on the morning of September 5 in his house in California.

Vince Mini was a strength and conditioning coach at his gym/fitness center, ‘Mini’s House of Pain’, in El Dorado Hills, California, for more than 27 years, from 1996 till now.

Who was Vince Mini?

He grew up on the East Coast in a working-class family. His hard-working family taught him the ethics of hard work and self-discipline from an early age. He played football at school, which earned him a football scholarship for his college. He was a successful athlete and played in the NFL and the U.S. Football League.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Correction and worked as a correction officer in the California penal system. But his natural talent and passion were guiding others to their self-discovery and their fitness journey, both physical and mental. He decided to give back to the community by shaping the lives of many others by teaching them lessons he learned from his journey and experience, failures, and successes.

Vince started by training others from the garage of his house. He began teaching others in his strength and conditioning gym, Mini’s House of Pain, which aimed to shape the lives of many by focusing conditioning not only on the physical aspect but also mentally.

Vince was also a motivational speaker and proud owner of his book “The Power of Discomfort: Conquer Your Fears & Empower Your Life.” The book is available online. He was a loving husband and caring father of three children.

Vince not only gave back to society by transforming the lives of others but was also a big believer in charity. He used to hold annual charity fund-raisers and encourage everyone to participate. The funds would go to organizations like the American Cancer Society and Alzheimer’s Foundation. He once shared in an interview, “Everything in life is about others, not you,” he continued, “If we can give back through our experiences, our education, then we’re paying it forward.”
