About Ryucheru:

On September 29, 1995, Ryuchell was born in Ginowan, Okinawa. Ryuchell wed model and fellow Japanese social media sensation Peco on December 31, 2016.

They announced the birth of their baby in July 2018, giving him the name Link in honour of Link Larkin from Hairspray.

Ryuchell stated on August 25, 2022, through Instagram, that he no longer identified as a man, a gender he felt had been a burden during his marriage to Peco. Ryuchell declared he would rather be viewed as Peco and his son’s “life partner” and “parent” instead.

The agents for Ryuchell and Peco acknowledged that the two divorced but first claimed they were apart.

During an interview with the Japanese women’s magazine Very in September 2022, Ryuchell and Peco discussed their marriage and Ryuchell’s sexual orientation.

After the divorce, Ryuchell publicly supported the LGBT community and frequently appeared on Japanese talk shows to promote LGBT rights in that country. Since 2018, he has also organized Tokyo Rainbow Pride.

Ryuchell started to present as a woman in the last few months of his life. Still, he never came out as transgender in public, despite being photographed holding the transgender flag and making pro-transgender emotions.
