Suddenly, Michael Miles Standish departed away. On Tuesday, July 31, 2023, his demise was officially declared.
He passed away at age 58, leaving his community and loved ones with broken hearts. All those who had the honour of getting to know him throughout his life will miss him dearly.
It is unknown what caused his death or what events contributed to it. People are curious about what caused him to pass away. The family will soon put an obituary online.
About Michael Miles:
He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on November 13, 1964. Standish became interested in collecting coins and other numismatic artefacts at a young age.
American businessman Michael Miles Standish was also an author, an expert in rare coins and sports memorabilia, and a philanthropist. Michael Miles Standish published books as well.
He was one of Collectors Universe’s founding creators. He was serving as vice president of the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation at the time of his death.
When Miles was 16 or 17, his father accompanied him to a coin show in 1982. Miles met a man who graded coins for the ANA at the coin show and had a table there. Miles’ father quizzed him about his career goals on the drive home from the coin show. Miles declared that the man he met at the coin exhibit was someone he might like to work with. He expressed interest in working as a coin grader. The fact that he had that kind of vision at that age filled his father with joy.
He and the man at the coin show developed a closer relationship. After Miles completed high school, the ANA wrote to him to request an interview for the January trade show.
They made him a job offer! Miles Standish and Rick Montgomery, a man they met in 1982, started working on February 1 for an ANA coin grading company.
Later, they collaborated at PCGS. They then collaborated at NGC for the previous five years.
