On August 17, 2023, an ATV accident claimed the life of a beloved and cherished junior at Ottumwa High School.
Ryder Bradley, a 16-year-old Ottumwa kid, passed away. He suffered injuries in an ATV accident and, as a result, was declared dead not far from Oskaloosa. The wounds he received in the tragic ATV accident led to his demise.
His death was announced by Ottumwa Community School District through a social media post that remarks:
“With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking loss of one of our remarkable students, Ryder Bradley. We extend our condolences to the family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Ryder, who would have been a junior at Ottumwa High School this fall, embodied the essence of excellence and positivity.
In honour of Ryder’s memory, let’s continue to support and uplift one another, just as he did.”
Obituary:
On Sunday, August 27, the Reece Funeral Home will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for visitation, and the family will be available to greet visitors from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
About Ryder Bradley:
He was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on September 27, 2006, to parents Shane Patrick and Desiree Nicole Harbour Bradley.
Before enrolling in his junior year at Ottumwa High School, Ryder had worked at South Hy-Vee and attended the Bridge Church. Additionally, he was preparing to begin his senior year.
He was an intelligent youngster who took honours-level classes and was part of the program for talented and exceptional students.
When he was younger, he enjoyed bowling, building computers, fishing, and hanging out with his friends.
Many people who had the chance to interact with him before his death following the terrible ATV crash expressed their love and appreciation for him.
Our love and prayers are up for Desiree, Ope, Jazz and the rest of their family as they move through this sad, sad, tragic time.
