Police in the western parish of St. James are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of an American woman whose body was found inside her hotel room in Montego Bay on Wednesday morning.
Quintaria Roker, 24, a Florida resident of West Palm Beach, has been confirmed as the victim.

Quintaria “Taria” Roker has been identified as the woman who formerly lived in West Palm Beach, Florida. Some reports claimed that Roker traveled to Jamaica on Tuesday to meet up with a man she had met online.
According to reports, they partied late into the night on Tuesday and into the early hours of Wednesday before making a reservation at the Montego Bay Club Resort.
Her male friend allegedly checked the room at about ten in the morning after noticing that she hadn’t gotten out of bed. He found her unresponsive and sounded alarmed when he realized she was dead.
Shortly after being carried to the hospital, she was declared dead.
The police have said they have no suspicions of any illegal behavior and underlined that they are currently investigating.
