A male alleged suicide by jumping from a Southsea transmission tower on Goldsmith Avenue.
On Thursday, a sad and tragic event happened in Portsmouth.
Law enforcement agencies reported that a male committed suicide by jumping from a Southsea transmission tower on Goldsmith Avenue.
Police were called to the location in response to the tragedy, reported about a mentally ill man on a mast. The scene where a young adult male was discovered perched on an energy tower received a call from the authorities.
A male jumped, and he was declared deceased after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Police have released a statement regarding the incident that remarks:
“We are dealing with an incident in Goldsmith Avenue in Southsea, and the road has been partially closed. Please avoid the area until emergency services have left the scene.” “We were called at 1.46 pm to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man on Goldsmith Avenue in Southsea. Police are on the scene, and the road has been partially closed. Please avoid the area while we deal with the incident at this time,” a police spokesperson said following the ongoing investigation.”
The victim’s identity was not immediately made public by law enforcement agencies; that act that seemed to be a suicide is currently being under investigation. More details will come when the research is complete.
Goldsmith Avenue in Fratton was sealed due to police activity from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) showed up there and joined them. There was a considerable traffic delay in numerous areas after the accident.
