While she was a teenager, she went on tour with Ben E. King and had three songs that reached the Top 40: “Lover’s Holiday” in July 1968, “Pickin’ Wild Mountain Berries” in November 1968, and “Soulshaker” in February 1969. A duet act with Jo Jo Benson was involved. She recorded her first solo album under Jimmy Lewis’ direction, available on October 22, 1996.
