A source told Kelowna Now that Dhaliwal was located by housekeeping employees in a Hyatt Grand Central Hotel in New York City over the weekend, while the cause of death was not yet determined.

According to a Surrey local, Dhaliwal played prep hockey in Abbotsford at the Yale Hockey Academy and the Okanagan Hockey Academy.

The Warriors signed Dhaliwal in 2016 after playing in just two games with the Chilliwack Chiefs.

He participated in 148 games over three seasons, scoring 38 goals and achieving 82 assists. In 50 games as an assistant captain in 2018–19, he scored 50 points.
