Dr. Udey loved to play tennis, gardening, and family travels. He was a lively man who always made others happy with his kind nature. He had changed the lives of many with his care and dedicated services.

He was a dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He completed his medical school, dental school internship, and then residency. He graduated from Boston University and pursued his doctoral qualification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He later earned his maxillofacial internship from Boston Medical Center and general surgery training at UNC-Chapel Hill. Later, he started his residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

He was appointed an attending surgeon at Durham Regional Hospital and clinical adjunct faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill. Not only did he stop here, but he was also a profound member of the American Dental Association, American Medical Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and International Association.

He was also associated with Tri-County Community Health Center and served his services to the community.
