Missing Person Ju Lee Found Deceased, Investigation Continues

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Ju Lee, 37, from Neenah, was identified through DNA analysis of human remains found in a marshy area of Little Lake Butte des Mort in Fox Crossing on April 27.

On April 7, 2022, Lee was reported missing to Neenah Police. Lee was last spotted in Neenah on Sherry Street in the late afternoon of February 4, 2022, based to their report.

Lee was about 5’1″ and weighed 120 pounds. When he went missing, no description of his apparel was provided. The police have posted an absent person notice here.

After discovering that the recovered remains from Lake Butte des Morts could not be identified using conventional techniques, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 28 that they would collaborate with the Winnebago County Medical Examiner’s Office and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to conduct DNA, forensic, and biological testing.

According to the sheriff’s office, more measures were needed to validate the dead person’s identity.

The sheriff’s office revealed that investigators had identified the individual provisionally and had informed the man’s family in May.

Lee’s family reportedly received a tentative notification in April, but his name was made public on Friday morning, according to Winnebago County sheriffs.

The Winnebago County Sheriffs are looking into what caused or how Lee died.

Lee’s missing person case investigation by the Neenah Police Department is now finished.
