Former NFL player and North Dallas United coach Yaqub Talib shot SouthEast Dallas Wolverines football coach Mike Hickmon. The team was led by him and his brother Aqib Talib. On their way out of the scene, officials from the local fire department conducted CPR.

He was also well-known in law enforcement due to the multiple charges brought against him in 2011 and 2012. He was shot even after that, requiring hospitalization to recover from the wound

The athletes practicing on the field rushed for safety when they heard gunfire. According to witnesses, early information indicates that Aqib did not kill the coach. The gunshots are believed to have been fired by Yaqub, who was carrying the black hoodie.
Aqib is a well-known NFL player with a net worth of around $20 million in 2022. When he was in school, he first began to play. He was a cornerback while attending Richardson Berkner High School. At the University of Kansas, where he played undergraduate football, Talib was chosen to the first team All-Big 12 each of those years and a unanimous All-American in 2007.
