With prior advancement positions at Franklin & Marshall and the Baltimore Museum of Art, Michael’s route to Skidmore College brought him from the advancement office at Wesleyan University.

Michael continuously promoted a comprehensive, institutional-wide viewpoint, pushing for excellence in all areas.
Michael joined the Skidmore community in July of 2000; during his leadership tenure, the College successfully raised more than $500 million to support a range of programs, most notably the building of the Arthur Zankel Music Centre.
He was a pivotal contributor to creating and developing the College’s wildly popular branding strategy in 2001, “Creative Thought Matters.”
Beyond Skidmore, Michael actively participated in the Saratoga Springs community by serving on the boards of the YMCA, the Convention and Tourism Bureau, the Waldorf School, and other institutions.
His influence also resulted in the foundation of important volunteer support groups, such as the President’s Advisory Council and Friends of Skidmore Athletics.
He played a significant role in establishing the Communications and Marketing Office in 2015.
