Unfortunately, a joint head of impact investment at the Apollo Global Management Inc private equity firm, Marc Becker, has departed, leaving everyone in deep grief and shock.
He passed away on Monday at 51; according to an email from Park Avenue Synagogue in Manhattan, where he most recently served as board chairman, released a statement about the cause of his demise and said the reason which becomes the cause of his death was pancreatic cancer.
His three children and wife, Caryn, survive him. Specifics regarding the funeral and burial services will be posted soon so Marc’s loved ones become part of his last ceremonies.
Everybody, including business dignitary personalities, friends, and family, is missing and remembering the amazing Marc Becker, paying tributes and sending condolences to him.
“We have lost a larger-than-life presence who made an indelible mark on Apollo,” Chief Executive Officer Marc Rowan and Co-Presidents Scott Kleinman and Jim Zelter said in a message to employees. “We will remember him as a dedicated and loyal class-act, who was gracious and generous to all, and helped create and enhance some of our most well-known Apollo traditions.”

Becker, a Wharton School alumnus from the University of Pennsylvania, previously served as chairman of the TEAK Fellowship; this initiative aids low-income New Yorkers in gaining admission to elite secondary schools and institutions.
Becker was Smith Barney’s 14th employee when he joined Apollo in 1996 as an analyst. He participated in the firm’s private equity investment committee and monitored investments throughout his employment.
Marc has been with the company for 24 years and has proven to have considerable knowledge. Before this position, he oversaw private equity projects in different industry sectors, including business services, transportation & logistics, financial services, payments, real estate services, home builders, and building materials.
