Since August, reports had been circulating that a teenage girl named Kiely Rodni from Northern California had gone missing. She was last seen at a public gathering party beside a lake close to the town of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest in the Golden State.
In Northern California, a body was discovered inside a car. Divers said that the body was that of Kiely, a 16-year-old girl who had been missing. The body was found not far from the party that Kiely had attended.
The body found in Prosser Lake on Sunday was identified as belonging to missing teenager Kiely, according to a volunteer group named Adventures that assists in finding the missing individuals underwater. Additionally, they were invited to work with law enforcement to progress the investigation.
“Car is upside down in only 14′ of water. We have CONFIRMED Kiely is inside. Adventures are posted on their Facebook page. Law enforcement was contacted by the family that they were en route.
The license plate of Rodin’s car can be seen underwater in the video footage presented during the diving team’s live stream. Bishop claimed that after they were sure it was Rodin’s car, the group called the police and Rodin’s family.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office stated that the FBI’s investigations are still going and that law enforcement has not yet verified the Adventures’ conclusions.
Police reported on Sunday that they had engaged many detectives and investigators from several agencies in the case and examined more than 1,800 tips regarding Rodni’s missing. Last Thursday, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team searched underwater, but according to officials, they could not find her or her car at that time.
