A woman died in a tragic incident at the Maya resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Kiara Agnew, a 23-year-old woman from Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, has been named the victim.
According to sources, on March 3, while the 23-year-old woman and her 26-year-old boyfriend Rayn Friesen of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, were vacationing at the Riviera Maya resort hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, police were called to the property’s Princess Hotel, where a Kiara was found dead.
According to SSP Solidaridad, public safety officers. After a guy died in a hotel in the Xcalacoco district with apparent traces of violence, security detained him. Officers next went to the Princess Hotel, where a staff member pointed out Friesen, Agnew’s boyfriend, and a woman lying face-up on the ground with apparent wounds and blood stains. Friesen also had swelling on his hands and was wearing clothes that appeared to have blood stains.
The couple had been dating for almost a year, according to Roberts. Friesen plays ice hockey for the Dawson Creek Canucks in the North Peace Hockey League. Agnew, who moved to British Columbia when she was 14, worked at the Lake View Credit Union in Dawson Creek before passing. She would have turned 24 on March 11.
