On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, Ken George departed away. He was a resident of Warrensburg, Missouri, and an assistant professor of theatre at the University of Central Missouri.
He was declared deceased by a friend, who issued the following statement:
“I lost an exceptional colleague, truly one of the best scenic designers I’ve ever worked with, and a stunning professor.”
The cause of his death was not disclosed by the family; obituary information will be announced soon. As friends and relatives learned of Ken’s passing, they all began to mourn and express their grief.
About Ken George:
Ken George was Eunice Eisenbrandt’s adored son and a native of Parsons, Kansas. He worked as a freelance entertainment designer in addition to being an assistant professor at the University of Central Missouri.
He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has training in all facets of theatre entertainment, including speech, oral interpretation, basic lighting, project management, and education. He has also worked in the departments of scenery, scenic painting, and properties.
He also graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Design/Theatre. He attended Labette County High School and Coffeyville Community College, where he majored in Music Performance.
He was a former resident scenic and lighting designer at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming, as well as a former teaching assistant and graduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
He has most recently worked as a freelance designer based in the Midwest and on the west coast. He also spent four years as a visiting professor of scene design and a resident scene designer at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
He previously served as Louisiana State University’s Department of Theatre’s Associate Professor of Scene Design.
