The investigation into the incident was further complicated because the authorities noticed and, according to the gathered information from the neighbors, that they had not previously received any calls to their home regarding domestic abuse claims.

Dylan could leave the home after being shot twice in his left arm by his wife, Kayleigh, that evening. He contacted the police for aid, and they traced him across the street, which was close to the parking lot entrance for Heritage Middle School. While their kid, who was three years old, and a dog remained inside the house with Kayleigh.
Kayleigh, the wife, was refusing to speak with the police or leave the house, so according to that situation, the police called Lake County SWAT for help.
Officers ultimately entered the home using artificial intelligence and drones, discovering Kayleigh upstairs with just one gunshot wound. But unfortunately, despite their best attempts, she tragically passed away on the spot.
