Katie Spikes was a native of New Concord, Ohio, and attended Muskingum College to continue her education. She was formerly the senior planning producer for “60 Minutes,” the iconic CBS News program in New York.
Spikes was a highly respected local of Larchmont, New York. Dr. James L. Spikes was a renowned psychiatrist who worked in Manhattan and held the prestigious title of a Psychiatry assistant clinical professor at the esteemed Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a hospital in the Bronx.
She has dedicated herself to her trade for an amazing thirty years. She became an indispensable member of the CBS News team because of her persistent dedication to journalism and storytelling.
She devoted herself wholeheartedly to telling viewers powerful and thought-provoking stories throughout her distinguished career.
She was an exceptional producer with a drive for excellence evident in every program she worked on.
Beyond her outstanding career accomplishments, Katie was a beloved colleague and close friend to everyone at 60 Minutes. Her genuine concern for others made her a pillar of support inside our tight-knit team.
Her kind and sympathetic demeanor won the hearts of everyone she met. Katie’s demeanor exuded enthusiasm and kindness, whether lending a helping hand to a colleague producer or encouraging a reporter.
