About Shelby:

Milliron, born in Mansfield on February 28, 1935, resided in Richland County his entire life.

In 1953, Milliron graduated from Madison High School, where he also met Mary, the love of his life. She lost her struggle with Alzheimer’s disease in March 2021.

Three boys and four girls made up their family of seven children, of which they were raised during their 67-year marriage.

At the age of 18, Milliron established the Milliron Recycling business. He started a recycling and auto parts business with just an acre of property and 12 cars.

The company’s foundation was laid in 1954 by God and Milliron, who claimed credit for his commercial success. He has fostered it and allowed it to grow up until this point.

To Australian steelmaker Blue Scope Recycling Mansfield, Milliron sold Milliron Recycling in 2022.

Milliron was passionate about leaving his stamp on the neighborhood. To that end, the City of Shelby announced in October 2016 that Milliron would be donating to construct a new fire station.
