Boateng played relatively less during his two seasons at Clemson and unexpectedly signed with one of the top three colleges in Maryland, Arizona, or Atlantic Florida. Boateng will return to Florida and continue his career with the Orange and Blues after spending two years with Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.
Recruiting offensive tackles for the 2021 class was overseen by offensive line coach John Hevesy, who also signed 6-foot-7, 300-pound freshman Austin Barber. Aside from Boateng, he struggled during his second time at Florida, where he sought talent at the landing point.
Although Boateng is unlikely to play for the Gators in 2021, the Gators can still benefit from the extra bodies at the position and the minimal experience he garnered at Clemson. A safety net to shield the tackle site from potential damage.
