The father of the singer Carlos Rivera passed away and the news was confirmed by the Mayor of Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Salvador Santos Cedillo, through social networks.
“I am very sorry for the sensitive death of Mr. José Gonzalo Gilberto Rivera, father of our countryman Carlos Rivera. I express my sincere condolences to him, and of course, to his family and friends. Hoping that they can soon find comfort for this unfortunate loss, “the official wrote on his Facebook account.
According to what was published by local media, the information on the death of Mr. José Gonzalo Gilberto circulated in the municipality of Atltzayanca, to the east of the Tlaxcalteca entity, and was later confirmed by relatives and the Mayor himself, around 9:00 p.m. of Saturday.
It transpired that the possible cause of death of Carlos’ father was due to an acute myocardial infarction; and although he was treated by medical personnel, his efforts failed to save his life.
At the moment the family requested privacy, so it is unknown where Rivera will be fired and if Carlos, who is in Spain, will go to say goodbye. Dad and son were together on August 14, when the singer presented the video for the song “Te soñé, Tlaxcala” .
