Joanna Gail Vargas, Softball Player, Died, Cause of Her Death?

The sports community is mourning the death of the softball player who passed away, leaving behind everyone saddened and heartbroken.

At the end of July, an incredible, charismatic, loving mama and sports icon  Joanna Gail Vargas, 37, was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL).

Tragically, Joanna developed bacterial meningitis on Friday, August 18th, and was admitted to the ICU. By the morning of Saturday, August 19th, there was nothing left medically to do. Joanna passed peacefully away on the evening of the 19th.

She was a wife and true kindred spirit to Brittany, full of life and one of the most positive, strong lady. She immediately began the fight against cancer, even lifting weights as she underwent chemo.

Joanna Vargas was the mother of two vibrant, delightful little girls (2 and 4) and one more baby on the way.

She leaves behind a beautiful, loving, generous family of three (soon to be four). Brittany and the girls have a long road ahead of them.

The family will post details regarding the funeral services soon when they decide about it.

Amanda Manger organized the fundraiser on behalf of Brittany Vargas with a message:

“We are starting this campaign with the hope of helping Joanna’s family with the many life expenses and challenges they will face shortly. All funds raised will go first toward supporting them in the immediate term. Additionally, we hope to be able to support the family in creating some financial stability for the girls in the long term.

Anyone who knows Brittany and Joanna will attest that they are two of the kindest people you will ever meet and would do anything to help anyone. They consistently work very hard to ensure everyone is cared for, happy, seen, and loved without judgment. They are always optimistic and giving, even when faced with struggles and challenges.

Please consider contributing to this fundraiser. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. Please spread the word by copying the link to your Facebook page or other social media.”

Nine hundred-eight donations have raised $165,416 out of the $200,000 target.
