A beloved resident of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, Austin Short has sadly passed away, leaving behind everyone in pain and disbelief.
Austin died Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center from his injuries from a golf cart accident early Saturday morning.
As per reports, Short died from blunt force trauma and accident-related injuries.
Just before 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, the collision happened in Madison County at Dodd Road and Cruse Lane. According to detectives with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, six individuals were in the golf cart when the driver allegedly lost control.
Katlyene Sparks, 20, of Irvine, accused of operating the golf cart, is now charged with many offenses related to the collision and may face further charges in light of Shorts’ passing.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is still investigating.
Prayers for the upcoming days, weeks, months, and even years. We will never understand Why, but we must trust in God and that this is God’s will.
Austin was a well-loved person, and it shows on his page through all the prayers, messages, posts, visits, at the fair written on the trucks and all the t-shirts that his loved ones were made.
Everyone continues always to remember who Austin was and let him live on in the better parts of them.
