Elon Musk has long been eager to open his first large Tesla factory in Europe, and already in the summer of this year he showed a photo of what this large construction located in Berlin, Germany was going to look like. However, a snake has brought the entire project to a standstill, and the tycoon has seen his desire for expansion truncated.
The factory of famous electric and autonomous cars was going to be located in a place on the outskirts of the German capital, and everything indicated that it could start operating next year. But the hibernation of the Coronella snake has brought the works to a halt.
This setback represents a cost for the project, in addition to the fact that it is unknown, for the moment, when construction will resume. And it is that the German laws establish that, for a process of this type, the local authorities have to consult with the environmental organizations.
Environmental groups have rejected the building permit because deforestation is required that threatens this type of reptile, which is currently in hibernation. German authorities have started an audit to address the issue, but for now, Elon Musk and Tesla have had to shut down their giant factory in Berlin by order of the courts.
