Goni Bukar, a former member of the House of Representatives, was killed in a crash on the Damaturu-Kano Highway on Tuesday night. Buni said that his family, Yobe state, and Nigeria as a country had all suffered immensely from the death.
Hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Center before the funeral in Grange cemetery, including Yobe state governor Mai Mala Buni.
The crash had happened near the AY Dagauda Fueling Station in Dagauda Village on the Dambam-Potiskum junction,
The FRSC report states that the accident’s probable causes were exceeding the speed limit and losing control, with one individual suffering injuries while the other passed away at the site. The motor traffic department (MTD) of NPF Dambam Divisional Headquarters sent the casualties to the General Hospital in Dambam for care and identification.
