The Shively Police Department reported that two people died from a fatal collision early on Wednesday morning on the Watterson Expressway.
Officers responded to a call regarding a collision on Watterson’s westbound lanes at the Cane Run Road exit when the incident happened around 1:30 in the AM.
When they arrived, they noticed two cars had slammed into each other head-on. At the scene of the collision, both drivers’ bodies were discovered to be dead.
None of the vehicles contained any other passengers. According to the authorities, they have no idea how the two people hit one other and are still looking into the matter.
The victims’ identities, ages, and genders have not been known to the public. However, family members have used social media to identify one of the victims as Shelbyville, Kentucky, basketball player Donovan Johnson.
The Watterson had to be shut down due to the collision for around five hours while the scene was being cleaned up.
When the family decides, they will make it known quickly about the funeral services because they are deeply upset and saddened.
Everyone, including friends and relatives, expressed their condolences and memories of the adored Donovan on social media.
