Who was Dave Dickinson?
Dave had a fantastic radio career, starting working at numerous stations along the East Coast, including 96.3 WHUR; wherever he went, he worked full of his passion. Dave was a devoted employee of WHUR; he joined the station as Music Director in 1995 and contributed to developing the Adult Mix sound that made WHUR special.
In addition, he launched the careers of several musicians, including Jill Scott, Maxwell, and many others. He guided 96.3 WHUR to multiple Crystal Awards, a Stellar Award, and a Marconi Award from the National Association of Broadcasters while he was there.
Dave was appointed Project Director of WHUR and remained in that role till 2010. Dave was a radio and music lover and won multiple industry awards.
He always supported his coworkers and new joiners; his support and advice were admirable, which is too hard to get from a cooperative job system because everyone is thinking about self-growth, but he was the one who always gave priority to his colleagues, how to take the next step in practical life. That’s the reason to be why he recognized as ‘Superdave’.
