The loving son of Councilman Jeremy Zelwin and Courtney Zelwin, Cole Zelwin, departed unexpectedly.
Cole Zelwin, the brother of 2010 Lightning star Cailey Zelwin, passed away today, May 3, 2023.
Cole and the entire Zelwin family are longtime members of Solon Soccer, and they send their condolences to the Zelwin family at this trying time. Cole Zelwin’s demise was not given a cause.
On May 5, at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation, 27501 Fairmount Boulevard in Pepper Pike, funeral services will be placed at noon. The burial will take place in Mount Olive Cemetery.
The family will observe Shiva at home, 6578 Creekside Trail in Solon, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. May 8, 9, and 10.
Cole Samuel Zelwin was a well-known figure at city functions and council meetings. He was frequently spotted with his father, who also had a passion for public service.
Many people recall Cole riding his bike around town and getting to know it better with fondness. Everyone who knew him was devastated by his passing since he was an intelligent and gifted young guy.
Cole joined his father on the dais at the Solon City Council meeting on Monday, May 2, 2022. Nancy Meany, the vice mayor and councilwoman for Ward 5, questioned Cole about his opinion, and Cole responded, “I don’t have anything to say.” He will be remembered for his good nature, wide smile, and determination.
